Welcome to Official Website of the Sandwich-Bourne Lions Club

The Sandwich Lions Club was chartered in May of 1971 by 20 local businessmen. The Bourne Lions Club was sponsored by the Sandwich club and was charted in March of 1974. Both clubs functioned successfully using a variety of activities and events to fund local, state and international charitable organizations. During the summer of 2008, the Sandwich and Bourne Lions Clubs merged, since then, 10 new members have joined, and the Club was recognized for meeting Lions International Year Round recruiting goals for 2009-2010. Total membership for the Sandwich-Bourne Club currently stands at 40 members.

The Clubs’ primary fund raiser is a food trailer that is often seen at a number of town activities and events. The expanded Club has opened new opportunities and the trailer regularly crosses the bridge to serve its expanded menu in Bourne and Wareham. Some of the Club’s regular activities include participation in the Sandwich July 4th parade, refreshments at the weekly Band Concerts at the Wing School, Spring Rabies Clinics, installing the Christmas tree in Shawme Pond, and participation in the Wareham Fall Cranberry Festival. In September 2011, the Club sponsored a Canal Cruise on the Cape Cod Canal.
